No need to sleep on the hard ground, hangout in comfort

Not everyone who goes hiking or camping wants to spend their time trekking up steep ledges and scrambling across slippery rocks. Sometimes it’s nice to kick back at your campsite and listen to the birds and running water.

What better way to enjoy your surroundings than to spend your day swaying in the breeze, lounging in your hammock?

There are plenty of hammocks to choose from, but if you’re looking for something that is light-weight and will protect you from swarms of mosquiteers, there’s only one way to go, the No-See-Um by Hammock Bliss. Their slogan says it all, Keep The Bugs Out While You Relax In Comfort.

I got mine last fall and there is nothing better than lounging around in comfort beside a stream or in the middle of the woods. Heck, you can even use it in your own backyard!

GAH! I need one of these, pronto! I really don’t know how I didn’t know about these. I would totally use it in my backyard, too. How much are they?

  2. rachel says:

Hey Katie, thanks for the comment! They retail for $79.95. The site has tons of other models too. You should definitely check it out!

  3. I use this sort of hammock all the time (I actually use a Byer Mosquito Traveler, which I picked up for $40.) If you actually want to camp in it, you’ll need a rain tarp as well. (One of the reasons I use my Byer instead of my Hammock Bliss is that it fits under my rain tarp.)
I spent several nights in this rig (and its predecessor) while researching my Tonto NF hiking guide. I wrote about hammocks in y stint as the Phoenix Camping Examiner:

All sorts of advice – and I might make a fraction of a cent for the page-view.

    Hey Tony,

Great article! I like your instruction to set the hammck up before drinking. That seems like a smart piece of advice! The Byer looks like a great deal. I haven’t slept in mine yet, but it might be nice during the hotter summer nights.
