Mount Kearsarge - Hike and Shop
The holiday season is a great time to hike Mount Kearsarge in North Conway, New Hampshire. North Conway is perhaps the premiere shopping area in northern New Hampshire and the Kearsarge trailhead is just minutes from the center of town. We frequently hike this easy to moderate 6 mile hike in the morning, complete much of our Christmas shopping in the afternoon and enjoy dinner at one of the many fine restaurants in the area. Most of the recommended trail, a former 19th century bridle path, is in very good condition and the ledges near the summit provide wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. The historic and distinctive fire tower at the top offers phenomenal 360-degree views.
