Hiking Lincoln & Lafayette on Franconia Ridge

Unsurpassed 360-degree views of the surrounding White Mountains are the reward for hiking on New Hampshire’s Franconia Ridge.  Located in the heart of the White Mountains, the ridge connects two of New England’s highest and most majestic peaks, Mount Lafayette and Mount Lincoln.  The entire exposed ridge is an arctic alpine environment and both summits exceed 5,000 feet in elevation.  I prefer doing a loop hike that traverses both peaks.  Caution should be exercised in choosing the appropriate day to hike Franconia Ridge as adverse and extreme weather are always a risk.  Our book, Mountains for Mortals - New England, features my preferred route and offers directions to the trailhead, a map, elevation profile and other valuable information for this moderately difficult hike.  Our website, www.ronchaseoutdoors.com, provides additional information about our book.

Truthfully, this was a really prime post. In theory I’d like to drop a line like this too - taking time and real effort to make a rational article… but what can I say… I procrastinate a lot and never seem to get something done.
