HIKING CADILLAC MOUNTAIN: Coastal Highpoint

Cadillac Mountain is the tallest summit along the eastern seaboard of the United States.  Located in Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island in Eastern Maine, Cadillac is a barren peak that towers over the surrounding mountains and affords unsurpassed views of the island and nearby bays.  We enjoy a moderately difficult loop trip that is detailed in our book, Mountains for Mortals - New England.   Visit our website at www.ronchaseoutdoors.com for additional information on our book which provides precise directions, GPS coordinates, comprehensive trail descriptions and beautiful photos.  Other Acadia National Park mountain hikes featured are Champlain, Parkman and Bald mountains.
