Check out ViewRanger at #ORshow

The great app developers and outdoor enthusiasts of ViewRanger will be making the trip in from the UK for the Summer 2012 Outdoor Retailer show this week. Stop by Booth #38077 to see what they have worked up. Their cross-platform app is amazing. The feature rich network they’ve built connects iOS, Android, Symbian and desktop devices. It’s certainly one of the more powerful navigation apps out there and is used by casual hikers, to hardcore climbers and even many Search and Rescue groups from around the world.

They offer both free apps and paid apps and you can buy as much or as little maps and content to go with it. No doubt, you’ll spend a lot of time connecting with folks via my.viewranger.com and trading free tracks and subscribing to folks there. We certainly do. But you can quickly zero in on the best hikes and trips by following and adding high quality GPS travel content created by the authors of Wilderness Press and Menasha Ridge Press. There is a certain peace of mind you get from knowing you are following a route generated by a guidebook author. Not to mention all of the great book content and narrative that comes with these Premium Routes. There is a lot of history, points of interest and directions that you might miss, by going with another route. The less time you have to spend sifting through tracks, the more time you get out on the trail.

So check them out. We think they’re cool. Once you’ve visited the ViewRanger crew come on over and share your thoughts on the content and the app, at our Booth #32074.
